New Neighbors

The house next door has remained empty. Like so many houses across this great land, empty. Vandalized. Broken. It is very sad. The neighborhood rallied, I would be on the lookout for wandering youth who were destroying the 'hood. Across the street, they installed security cameras to keep an eye on the empty house. After a year of emptiness the boys come running in the house, someones in the backyard and I got in the zone, ready to fight. I pull a chair up to the fence and yell "Hey! what are you doing? This is private property!" I think for a moment there was shock and aw. "Um , oh we just bought this house, we are your new neighbors." (shrieking inside, Is there a hole I can crawl into?) Help me Lord! Hi I'm Theresa ! Nice to meet you! Three weeks later a young family of four moved in. A week after that they invited us for dinner. Nice new neighbors. We like you. Please stay. (support your local Big 5 because you never know that the manager has a sweet little family and bought their first home.) We bought a football.

Their roses hug the property line , I wish the computer had "scratch and sniff"

What a blessing from God to have a nice family next door. (For both you and them)
