* Surgery update *

Dear Friends,

First of all I would like to thank all that kept J in prayer this morning during his surgery. He was so brave, "and I didn't even cry mom." That is peace that passes understanding. God is good.
Second the Cholesteatoma is gone! Did you all get that! We are so happy about that. The first order of business when we found out 4 years ago that he has c-toma, was to get the ear healthy. That mission is accomplished. Dr D is a wonderful Dr. The best out there! (If you ever need a head and neck surgeon he is your man) What Dr D did tell us (which it is still soaking in so bear with me) the second order of business is to restore hearing as much as possible.
When he was in the ear putting in the prostesis, he found scar tissue and bone growth. Which basically means that when there is such trauma our bodies try to mend themselves. He removed the scar tissue , but the chance of it returning is great, which the scar tissue will not allow the bones and prostetic to vibrate for hearing. Basically Dr. D said that there is nothing more he can do for J. He will be reffering him to a Dr. in Los Angeles. A very special Dr.,the only other is in Sweden. (which I probably won't be heading that way anytime soon)
It has been a very long day. We are going to cuddle up and watch a movie or two, eat saltine crackers and drink gingerale.

Thanks agian,
Theresa

Surgery tommorow

This picture is of J September 2004

J will have surgery tommorow. When he was 3 he started with ear infection after 6 months of anitbiotics , we decided to put tubes in his ears. When the Dr. was putting the tubes in he discovered Cholesteatoma in Js left ear. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cholesteatoma. It was determined that J has congenital cholesteatoma. So now that this will be his fourth surgery and I am praying the last. He basically has had to go in every summer since and remove any remaining c-toma. that have regenerated, left from a single tiny cell.So if Dr. D goes in tommorow and finds nothing, he will be done. The first goal is to establish a healthy ear , next will be to restore hearing. The first surgery Dr had to remove a bone and half of the three inner bones and build him a new eardrum (AMAZING) So yes J has hearing loss and will eventually require a hearing aid.
Please pray for:
J- to be brave and have courage
S and Theresa- be brave and have courage
Dr D- wisdom and a steady hand
Lastly that the choles. is ALL gone.

Will anyone Meet Me When I go to Heaven?
When you go visit your best friends, isn't it great to see them waiting for you? When you get home from School, doesn't it make you feel good to be met at the door by your mom- especially if she's baked some cookies? When you go to your grandparents' house, isn't it fun to see them watching for you through the front window?
When people love you , they watch and wait for you. Arriving in Heaven will be like coming home to the warm welcome of loved ones.
Maybe the people who will smile the biggest welcome will be the ones who prayed for you and taught you about Jesus. How happy they will be to see that you gave your life to the Lord!
If someone you love is already in Heaven , he or she may be watching for you. And when you walk smiling through the doorway , how happy your loved one will be.
Who will be the happiest? You can guess that one. That's right. Jesus will be happiest of all. Don't you think he will be the first one to hug you when you step into heaven? And I know what he will say: "Come in! Come in! I've been waiting for you!"

Here we are, both pregnant. Little did we know in a few short months we would be giving birth less the 24 hours apart. She is such a copy cat! That smiley boy would be born and Mr.Social Butterfly. This picture, we were all four present.
